Birte Nordahl New Phd.Candidate in REDO at University of Oslo

Birte Nordahl, cand.theol. from University of Oslo, is the new Phd. Candidate in the REDO-Project.

Nordahl will investigate how the concept of Love was used, performed, ritualized and embodied in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on July 22, 2011.

Birte Nordahl is an acclaimed theologian and ordained minister in the Church of Norway. She has also worked within the performing arts, within education, as an editor and with social and feminist issues. Her previous position was as clergy at Oslo Cathedral.

The ritual response to the July 22 terror attacks is the main case in the REDO-Project. Project leader Jone Salomonsen is investigating this topic together with religion studies scholars Cora Alexa Døving and Ida Marie Høeg. Nordahl's project is highly relevant to this project, and will be conducted in dialogue with the other researchers.

Birte Nordahl will be starting in April 2015.
