The Jewish Pathfinders Project
The study programme Jewish Studies and Intercultural Competence for Jewish Paths, as part of the Shvilim programme, qualifies students from Norway to work as Jewish Pathfinders under The Action Plan against Antisemitism of the Norwegian government.
The Jewish Pathfinders Project is part of the educational efforts of the Jewish Community of Oslo to enhance knowledge about Jews as a religious and national minority and help combat antisemitism. Young Jewish Pathfinders visit upper secondary schools around the country, share their minority experiences, convey Norwegian Jewish history, elucidate the diversity among Jews, and address the challenges facing them as members of the Jewish minority. Further studies
The study programme provides valuable knowledge, understanding and skills for further studies in religion, culture and history on the bachelor level.
The three courses of the programme (10 ECTS Credits each) can be integrated in the bachelor's programme Religion og samfunn (Norwegian website) at The University of Oslo. They may also, where the programme structure permits this, be used in bachelor's degree programmes at The University of Oslo and elsewhere.
