Objective
The ongoing presentation seminar aims to ensure that PhD candidates have the opportunity to present and discuss their research in a beneficial pedagogical context and in a way that provides an appropriate academic context for their projects. The seminar also aims to give PhD candidates a clear academic-social context.
Description of activities
The ongoing presentation seminar is a compulsory part of the PhD programme at the Faculty of Theology. All participation in presentation seminars must be reported to the research adviser and the PhD leader.
Presentation at academic-social seminar
New participants in the PhD programme present their project and receive feedback at a joint academic-social seminar. This is normally organized within six months of admission.
No credits are awarded for presentation at the academic-social seminar.
Contributions at the presentation seminar
All PhD candidates must present their project at least twice at a presentation seminar. The presentation seminars can be held in various arenas (e.g. at the relevant unit, research group, at seminars organized by the research project). Together with the PhD Coordinator, the relevant academic unit is responsible for ensuring that all PhD candidates have a relevant arena for their presentations.
A total of 2 credits are awarded.
Prepared feedback to another PhD candidate
All PhD candidates must give prepared feedback to another PhD candidate at least twice at a presentation seminar. This includes making written notes/lists of points.
A total of 1 credit is awarded.
Master seminar
All participants in the programme take part in a master seminar during the latter part of the project phase. All PhD candidates must present a central extract from their thesis. There is usually one external opponent. The presentations must be coordinated with the PhD administration and announced to all participants on the programme.
This is worth 2 credits.
Active participation at presentation seminars
All PhD candidates are expected to take part in presentation seminars that are held, as far as possible. Participation is registered in the annual progress report.
No credits are awarded.
