Aasta Hansteen forelesningen 2015
Antropolog Anna Fedele fra Center for Research in Anthropology (CRIA) of the Lisbon University Institute (ISCTE-IUL) er årets Aasta Hansteen-foreleser 2015 med tittelen: "Turning Christianity upside down? Mary Magdalene pilgrimages as forms of social and religious critique"
In recent years an increasing number of people have visited shrines dedicated to saint Mary Magdalene in order to benefit from the “energy” of these places. These Mary Magdalene pilgrimages form part of a larger phenomenon of reinterpretation of Catholic shrines in Europe through theories and practices drawn from alternative spirituality. The pilgrims reinterpret the meaning of Christian figures and rituals and celebrate the sacredness of body and sexuality. These types of religious innovations can be seen as an outgrowth of European Christianity that provides a corrective for its androcentrism.
