Academic Interests

My primary research interest is Eastern liturgical history of all epochs, especially the Byzantine tradition and the first millennium Christian rite of Jerusalem. I am specializing in the Late Antique Daily Office of the cathedral of Jerusalem and its spread to other parts of Eastern Christendom, including the Caucasian churches and the Byzantine church, and its continuation and further development as the Byzantine rite in Constantinople and the whole Byzantine world.
