Background
I teach and research religious studies and human rights. My area of specialization is the interaction between law and religion in theory, history and social and political practices. I have previously worked at the United Nations Association of Norway, the Norwegian Immigration Appeals Board, at the University of Oslo and at the Scandinavian University Press. I am editor for Norway at the Eurel database on legal and sociological data on religion in Europe, and part of the ongoing research projects Non-Religion in a Complex Future at the University of Ottawa and The Governmateriality of Indigenous Religions at the universities in Bergen and Tromsø. I am a member of the Regional Committee for Medical and Health Research Ethics (REK), and associate professor at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights at the University of Oslo.
