Rosemarie Van Den Breemer
Faglige interesser
I am interested in comparative politics and political theory. More particularly, I am interested in the intersection between liberal theory and historical institutionalism. My work is concerned with secularism understood as both, a philosophical doctrine and ideology of state church separation, as well as the existing practices (policies, regulations, institutions) of state church separation as they are given form in a range of public domains in different countries. My current research focuses on the ways in which three secular states, France the Netherlands and Norway give form to religious diversity on the graveyard. I use this empirical analysis as a prism to talk about theories of state church separation and the role of religion in the public domain, more broadly conceived.
