Implementation
A great emphasis is laid on the completion of the ph.d.-program within normal time.
Normal Time for Research Training
Normal time on the program is 3 years of full time studies. The guidelines for extensions to research fellowships do not usually open for deadline extensions unless they are legally imposed by the regulation for research fellowship posts. It is therefore extremely important to start on the taught part and the dissertation writing early. It is also important to report absence on account of illness, applications for leave of absence, etc. that may affect your completion time.
Organised Research Training
The ph.d.-program consists of a taught component and a dissertation. The obligatory taught program is described in the program plan and consists of 30 credits, distributed amongst the following modules:
- Basic seminar(10 credits)
- Ongoing presentation seminar (5 credits)
- University pedagogical module - Uniped (5 credits)
- Discipline and dissertation-specific course (10 credits)
Progress report
Every year you are to send in a progress report to the faculty where you describe how your study is going and if you have any problems. It is particularly important to report on any factors that might lead to a delayed study progress.
Supervision
The ph.d.-training is a supervised training, and the candidate and supervisor have duties towards one another that are regulated by the supervisor contract.
