The Network for Early Christianity in Its Graeco-Roman Context is pleased to invite doctoral students in the Nordic countries as well as the Baltic States to submit a paper for discussion during a Seminar on Archaeology, Text, and Historical Interpretation to take place in Reykjavik 24-27 September 2008 (see the Seminar Program below).

The application must in addition to personal information (full name, date of birth and home address) include information about previous studies, a short description of the dissertation project, proposed date of delivery of the disseratation and name and address of supervisor. A research seminar on "Body, Mind, and Society in Early Christianity" will be arranged in Helsinki, 31 August to 3 September, 2005. The goal of the seminar is to inititate a dialogue between the social-scientific study of early Christianity and the new approaches in comparative religion using perspectives from cognitive science. Invited speakers include Philip Esler (University of St.andrews), Luther Martin (University of Vermont) and Vernon Robbins (Emory University).
