Activities

Annual Lecture: Aasta Hansteen Lecture on Gender and Religion
The Aasta Hansteen Lecture on Gender and Religion is an annual event at the Faculty of Theology, inaugurated in September 2011 as part of celebrating 200 years of academic theology at the University of Oslo. The lecture series is named after Aasta Hansteen (1824-1908), an early Norwegian feminist and activist who had the courage to engage in critical discourse on gender, culture and theology to help promote women’s rights in Scandinavia and North America. In memory of Aasta Hansteen and her spiritual kin, an internationally distinguished scholar is annually invited to the Faculty of Theology to give a lecture and a seminar on seminal topics and theories in the academic fields of gender and religion, and feminist theology and philosophy. Read about the first annual lecture.

Seminar: SIKOT – The Seminar in gender and theology
The Seminar in gender and theology – SIKOT- is the research group's vehicle for reflection and dissemination to a wider audience. The seminar meetings are open to researchers, students, priests and others. The focus is debate, professional development and dissemination of research results and of different gender perspective on religion, theology, ethics, dialogue and religious practice.

Network:  Nordic Feminist Tuning Luther
The Nordic Feminist Tuning Luther network is crucial to the research group’s collaborative work with Nordic and international colleagues. The network was established 22 October 2010 at the Faculty of Theology, University of Oslo. Its goal is to rethink Martin Luther’s work and legacy from a gender-critical and feminist perspective, as we prepare to celebrate all about Luther in 2017. More about the network.
